Lovely piece by Scott Heiferman and Jeremy Heinmans in the run up to the inauguration event tomorrow about the name badges Meetup are giving out to the crowd. Certainly rings true for the Meetups I’ve been involved with.

People use the internet (Meetup.com) to get off the internet and organize community around something important to them — whether that’s getting advice in running a small business or fighting for gay rights or supporting each other through health struggles.
