Listening to the Moral Maze on Radio 4 on what’s going on in Iraq. Robert Cooper, who is quite closely linked to Demos where I work, has just said, “Order is not the natural state; chaos in the natural state. If you remove order, chaos is what you get.” I’m not sure I agree but I am a big fan of his Postmodern State thesis.
